This HRV replaced an old and tired Lifebreath unit. I mounted it directly to the wall studs in the same location where the Lifebreath had been suspended from the floor joists by straps. I was worried that I would get sound transmission due to the wall mount. However, the new HRV is much quieter in terms of airflow noise and there are no vibration issues. The setup process was straightforward with clear instructions and the HRV functioned properly after setup with no issues whatsoever. The self balancing feature was important in my purchase decision and you can see the HRV air flow rates on the small display during setup or any time you want to check it going forward. Overall a very easy machine for a diy install as long as you are able to get the most difficult part of the install, the ductwork, routed and connected properly.
