We evaluate manufacturers across product quality, certifications, environmental and social responsibility, and transparency — so you can shop with confidence, knowing every product meets our standards.
Company Criteria
When assessing building products, we consider manufacturer-specific attributes such as credentials or third party labels, certifications like ISO 14001, environmental policies, and participation in eco initiatives. We verify environmental claims and compliance with laws. We also review the manufacturer's safety and environmental track record. Regarding social and environmental responsibility, we check product origin for ethical practices, prioritize employee safety, and may conduct third-party audits. We value manufacturers contributing to social initiatives, showcasing their commitment to responsible business practices through financial support and time investment.

Product Criteria – Planet
In assessing building products, we consider key factors: evaluating product benefits for water, air, and cleanliness, checking certifications and environmental studies. Waste reduction is vital; we examine necessity, waste generation, and reuse options. Recycling is assessed for end-of-life and packaging. We inquire about recycled content and renewable resources. Energy and resource efficiency are considered, and we evaluate embodied energy. Lastly, we assess water use and its impact on local systems.

Product Criteria – Health
In our assessment of building products, we thoroughly evaluate material-related factors, such as MSDS, non-hazardous alternatives, and VOC emissions. We explore certified recyclers for hazardous waste. Additionally, we consider indirect costs like energy consumption and WHMIS compliance. We assess product contents through recognized standards like Declare, HPDC, Cradle to Cradle, Healthy Building Network, EPD, and other disclosures. This evaluation guides our sustainable building solutions.
